The Ordinary Skincare

The Ordinary Skincare

(side note: Sorry for the terrible photos, I have used these products to death because they are blemin’ brilliant, so they are already covered in foundation and marks from my make-up bag, noted to take photos before I use products from now on).

The Ordinary is a new form of no-nonsense skin care that actually works, and I mean really work. Since adding their products to my daily skincare routine I have noticed such a difference in the appearance of my skin and I have received so many comments. I have also bought these products as presents and I know how well received they have been, you don’t have to look far before stumbling across a blog post on this skincare range but I thought as I have been using these products for 6 months now I would share with you my favourites and the ones I can’t wait to try.

The Hydraulic acid£5.90.  This was the first product I tried from this range, it is the product that made me fall in love with the brand, It is really not difficult to understand why this is their best seller. I am now on my third bottle and I can’t see another serum replacing it anytime soon. I was on the search for a serum that would hydrate my skin without costing me a fortune with no luck until I came across the Hydraulic acid. The application is so easy, there is a little pipette that I love and you just squeeze it on to your hand and apply. You only need a small amount, it really soaks in, this is the first product I use in my skincare routine so I really notice a difference if I am not using it.

The silicone primer£4 I always find primers one of the hardest products to remember to add into my skincare routine. I love the finish it leaves before foundation but often finds it never has a dramatic impact on how my foundation applies, but none the less I needed a new one so whilst trawling ASOS beauty I decided to pop this in my basket. The Ordinary offer two primers, this one and the liquid serum in a similar application to the Hydraulic acid with a pipette, I haven’t tried this but again I have heard positive reviews. I love the silicone primer, the application is great and it leaves my skin so smooth and soft before I add my foundation.

Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA £4.90  I have been switching between my Kiehl’s moisturiser and some Soltan factor 50 face moisturiser because I don’t want sun damage and wrinkles but when I spotted this product for £5 a fraction of what I am spending at Kiehl’s I knew I had to try it and I already really love it. It is thicker than my Kiehl’s moisturiser but it still soaks in really well, it visibly brightens and hydrates my skin. This is a really effective and affordable moisturiser that you should have in your makeup bag.

In my next order I am hoping to try the serum foundation, out of the two foundations The Ordinary offer, the serum and total coverage, the serum is definitely receiving the better reviews, the 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil and Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%. I will update on these once I have tried them.
